Help for St. Louis Families
The Frozen Cup began in 2012, a year after four-year-old autistic Chase Miller Pottorff, who was making great strides in communication, passed away. In his short time on earth, he helped therapists learn how to communicate with autistic children through the use of iPads and iPods. He brought hope to the autistic community; we now know more about how an autistic child’s mind works and how to inspire them because of Chase. This is his legacy.
In order to keep making progress with ASD, we must increase autism awareness while we help fund treatments for St. Louis families affected by autism. Today, nearly 1 in 68 children have an autism diagnosis. It is the fastest growing developmental disability in the Unites States. Unfortunately, there is no cure, only treatment. The average cost of that treatment is $60,000 a year per child. Many families can’t afford it so their autistic child goes without treatment, greatly inhibiting growth, development, and family harmony.
Donate & Make a Difference
An ASD diagnosis can be crushing; parents know that their loving, smart, curious child may be at a disadvantage his whole life. We want to change that. We want to have that all-too-common autistic diagnosis not challenge families to the breaking point. Too many families can’t afford treatment so their ASD child suffers; if they move forward with treatment, in many cases, it can bankrupt them. Your donation will directly impact a local ASD family’s life and change their child’s future.
Thanks to all of our participants, volunteers, donators, sponsors, and fans, we raised $2727 in 2013, $5454, in 2014; in 2015, $10,908, and in 2016, our grand total was $22,538! With your donations, we can continue the progress that Chase started and share his legacy.
The Frozen Cup is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization dedicated to changing the face and future of autism. We need your help to continue to change lives. Please donate today.
